I think I'm raising a collector {otherwise known as a pack rat}.
{baby dolls in the toybox}
{books in the living room}
{beach stones on the windowsill}
I have no idea where she gets that from.
{plates on the dining room wall}
{keyholes on the living room wall}
{jewelry in the bedroom}
What do you collect? If you have children, have you passed on your pack rat gene to the next generation?

wow that is a lot of jewelry -- do you actually wear it or just "showcase" it? And that clock next to the keyholes is really BIG.
I must admit that I don't wear most of that jewelry. Which is why I call myself a pack rat ;)
Isn't that clock huge? It measures 26" round!
I was surprised to see all the jewelry, too - I never thought of you as someone who wore a lot, just a few basic pieces.
And yes, my kids are collectors, too ... of acorns, leaves, books, Pokemon cards, artwork, etc. - but they didn't get that from ME! I tend to throw away as much as I can, and often find myself saying, "Gee, I just don't know WHERE all those rocks/bottle caps/sticks you picked up outside went!" Can't stand all the clutter! (k)
I collect dust ... :-)
Seriously though, I adore your keyhole collection - how cute!
My collection obsession includes old stamps, postcards, books and coins; I love buying pottery (but can't really classify myself as a collector ... yet). In the past, I've amassed an assortment of teapots, suitcases and vintage luggage, and Nancy Drew books. I've tried to purge but some of it I just can't bear to part with!
Ooo! I have a wall-o-necklaces like that. I only ever wear about 1/5 of it (one at a time, that is) but the rest I just like to look at. I want a closer look at your collection. I want to run my fingers through it. I want to hear the stories behind each piece.
Sage collects stuff too - rocks, snowglobes, tiny statues. I had to draw the line when he wanted to start a leaf collection in his room though.
Ha! That made me giggle. I collect books, that's about it. They are all over the place here...
k - I could never live with you! I would fear for my collections :)
paula - What a coincidence - I collect dust, too!
KB - Some of those necklaces are from ten+ years ago. I obviously can't get rid of anything. Others are thrift shop finds - it's how I found my BEST necklace for only $2. Some I've made and some were made by other people.
I also just like the way they look there!
Sue - Oh, yes. I collect books, too. It's one of the reasons I don't like checking out books from the library. I want to keep my books!
